Virgil Griffith

Virgil Griffith, working at Ethereum. Technologist mixing novel technology and social insight to solve hard problems. Focusing on blockchain/smart-contracts/data-science/security. I've been in the tech industry since I worked as a PHP developer in high-school. My involvement continued throughout my undergraduate career where I was a network administrator and then a research associate in computer security. But upon finishing my Bachelors, the idealist in me wanted to serve humanity and expand scientific knowledge, and I spent 2007-2013 studying neural complexity at Caltech. In 2014 I became Dr. Virgil, returned to the tech industry, and moved to Silicon Valley. In 2015 I concluded the best place for new growth is Asia and moved to Singapore. Skills: product development, data-science, security/privacy, Tor, psychology, back-end web development, and math. Interests: blockchains, cryptofinance, security/privacy, machine intelligence, machine learning, computational law, and data-science. Tools of choice: Python, R, Haskell, and LaTeX.
