While some aspects are immutable, situations arise—like bug fixes or fee adjustments—that require careful modifications. The question is: how do we implement changes while maintaining decentralization? Enter Llama. Their open-source smart contracts will be directly integrated into River, providing every space with built-in governance tools. This means stakeholders—node operators and space owners—can propose and vote on protocol changes through a secure, transparent system. We've been implementing Llama into our onchain governance and the protocol currently governs all of River's smart contracts and node operations. Through this framework, members can discuss and decide how funds are allocated and how to govern their own community.
