NovaUCD
NovaUCD is the hub of innovation activities at University College Dublin.
At NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs at University College Dublin, we nurture and support high-tech start-ups to grow and scale globally.
Start-ups include companies which spin-out from the university's research programmes or companies which spin-in and locate at NovaUCD in order to collaborate with and benefit from engagement with the university.
UCD’s knowledge transfer team, which is responsible for the commercialisation of intellectual property arising from research and other knowledge-intensive activity at UCD, is also based at NovaUCD.
ConsultUCD, the university's managed consultancy service, which has been established to facilitate access and support the engagement between business, industry and UCD is also based at NovaUCD. NovaUCD also manages NexusUCD, the university's industry partnership centre.
The NovaUCD team delivers a series of programmes, such as Innovation Sprint Programme; Commercialisation Bootcamps and a dedicated Accelerator programme, to support the creation and launch of sustainable and profitable new ventures based on the commercialisation of UCD intellectual property. The team also runs a dedicated student entrepreneurship mentoring programme.
NovaUCD has been funded through a unique public-private partnership that includes AIB Bank, Arthur Cox, Deloitte, Enterprise Ireland, Ericsson, Goodbody Stockbrokers, UCD and Xilinx.
The NovaUCD team is part of UCD Research and Innovation.
