NODR creates an open marketplace where hundreds of millions of people around their globe can lease their idle bandwidth to thousands of video streaming services and receive instant payment in cryptocurrency. Since 2016, Teleport Global AG has enabled over-the-top TV and VOD services to deliver video with higher quality to a significantly larger proportion of their viewers. Teleport’s technology builds a real-time peer-to-peer CDN atop the browsers of those watching the video via the WebRTC protocol under the Teleport Media brand. NODR, Teleport’s project for a decentralized, blockchain-driven CDN, which began in 2018, is building an open marketplace where millions of people can install software to become a node of the NODR CDN, receiving cryptocurrency tokens in payment for the lease of unused bandwidth.
