Max Crown

Max (Maximilian) Crown is CoFounder and Chief Finance Officer at MoonPay. Max started his career in 2004 with Mercedes-Benz McLaren, and has garnered experience across various finance, operations, and risk positions for over a decade and a half, spanning three distinct nations. Between 2008 and 2010, he took on the mantle of CFO for a high-end real estate firm operating in both London and Brazil, overseeing the entirety of its financial, tax, and regulatory frameworks. In 2010, a new venture beckoned Max to Brazil where he founded his bespoke advisory firm, with an emphasis on championing international investments within the country. Here, he collaborated with major investment entities from the US and the UK, aiding them in diverse investments from virgin land ventures to extensive credit portfolio acquisitions. Equipped with trilingual proficiency, Max adeptly bridged communications between Brazilian regulatory bodies, local banks, and their international counterparts, showcasing his adeptness in managing intricate cross-border protocols, from reporting to compliance. Over the recent couple of years, Max's expertise has been instrumental in architecting the foundational pillars of MoonPay’s finance and operations sectors. This includes crafting internal control systems, formulating risk management blueprints, and consistently liaising with international regulators. On the academic front, Max completed his Bachelor of Business Studies from City University, London in 2004, followed by a Master of Finance from London Business School in 2009. He later received a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 2014.
