Chris Cable is Founding Member at Neon DAO, Ready Player DAO, Flamingo DAO.

He has been deeply involved in the blockchain and crypto ecosystem since he bought bitcoin in early 2013. Chris’ career has spanned finance, marketing, insights and commercial operations across the US, UK and Australia.

Chris began his career as an Equities Analyst at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Sydney covering the nation’s large-cap retailers. He quickly made a name for himself and his research was quoted in the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, among other national publications. While Chris had honed his analytical skill-set at the bank, he had a desire to leave the financial sector and work in the industry he covered – Consumer Goods.

After three years at the bank, Chris’ made his first significant career pivot when he moved to Diageo in Sydney in 2012. Chris began on the commercial side of the business supporting the Woolworth account team before moving into Category Management.

Chris moved to New York in 2014 to continue working at Diageo in Category Management. Between 2014 and 2017, Chris worked across Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Corporate Strategy, National Accounts and Consumer Insights.

In 2017, Chris was promoted to the Director of Insights and Analytics for North America. In this role, Chris was in charge of Diageo’s North American portfolio strategy which deployed over $1bn of advertising and promotional spend annually. Chris helped to formulate and deliver a suite of cutting edge marketing effectiveness tools across the region which grew brand equity, revenue and share ahead of Diageo’s competitive set. This work won the ANA Genius award in 2018 for Marketing Effectiveness and was quoted in the WSJ among other publications as a key driver of Diageo’s share outperformance.

Chris became very involved in the crypto-ecosystem in New York in 2016. He was one of Polychain Capital’s first investors, attended the first ever NFT exhibit (dada.nyc), conference (Rare.Art) and regularly spoke at Ethereum meet-ups.

In 2017, Chris participated in a number of flagship ICOs including Cosmos, Polkadot, 0x, Brave and Filecoin. His keen interest, deep knowledge and wide-ranging connections within the crypto-ecosystem has kept Chris ahead of key trends within crypto including DeFi, NFTs and now DAOs.

In October 2020, Chris became a day-one member of Flamingo DAO, an NFT-specific DAO. Chris’ involvement with Flamingo DAO and the subsequent DAOs that he entered into in 2021 led Chris to make his second significant career pivot and leave Diageo. Chris shifted his entire attention to investing and participating in DAOs full-time in late 2021.
