Emerging tech gives us new tools to help fight complex modern problems—what happens next depends on how they are used. I educate on the influence of emerging technology on our lives and our world. My articles have appeared in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and Venture Beat; I wrote a best-selling book explaining how blockchains could shape our organizations and culture; I’m a keynote speaker at conferences around the globe (and now, from my home via video); I founded and run Unblocked Future, a strategic marketing firm that serves pioneers leveraging tech for farsighted action to advance the way we work and live. For over two decades, I’ve worked at the nexus of the enterprise, disruptive innovation, and organizational and cultural change—and had the honor of helping founders and builders who work at the edge of possible to translate their work to the world. I care deeply about the future of work, urban environments, sustainable energy, and the preservation of human connection as tech exerts more influence over our lives. Unblocked Future’s clients are for-profit and impact organizations that seek to build a higher and healthier standard, even (especially) in the face of global crisis. They typically face many unknowns—a shifting market, stakeholders who are unfamiliar with what they do, or the challenge of articulating a new direction. I purpose-built my firm to navigate + build traction through ambiguity. We work with agile methodologies that flex as needs change. A social scientist by training, I’ve spent my career studying the intersection of human behavior + emerging tech, with 20 years consulting to startups + Fortune-1000 companies. I believe emerging tech holds great opportunity, but comes with great responsibility. There is challenging work ahead: I am honored to be a part of it.
