1X was started by industry veterans with many years of investment experience in private companies in various growth stages. 1X is also an affiliated entity of CapBridge, an online capital raising platform for growth companies. While CapBridge enables investors to efficiently access promising private companies, there is still a strong demand for orderly and transparent exit options for investors in private companies other than an IPO. Many companies are staying private longer, which can pose a problem for shareholders who require timely exits. Without an expensive and often cumbersome public listing, business owners cannot adjust their shareholder base. Another option is therefore needed to provide investors fair valuation and the ability to efficiently recycle their capital in a continuous manner.
